  1. I love the cover of McCall’s upcoming release. It screams pick me up and look at me. Under the Mesquite was one of my favorite debuts last year. Can’t wait to buy Summer of the Mariposas. Is this novel also in verse?

    • I’m so glad you like it! It’s not in verse, though it does have a poetic voice to it. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a fantasy in verse, actually. I think they end up being so long that a fantasy in verse would end up being volumes! 🙂
