On Facebook today, I’ve started a poll that anyone is welcome to answer. Let me know: do you prefer e-books to print books or vice versa? Both, depending on the circumstances? Or do you forget e-books entirely and go for audio instead of e-books? Check it out and weigh in!
And if you aren’t on FB, feel free to weigh in here in the comments!
I would prefer to be surrounded by the books (and music) that I love, but my eyesight is not what it used to be and my wife does not like the clutter of bookshelves. E-books (I am currently using Kindle reader for PC and PDF), let me have unlimited shelf space and the Kindle lets me pick the type size and line width for easy reading. I also like to listen to mp3 podcasts. Due to moves and changes in taste, I have given away several libraries in my lifetime.
I love the convenience of a light-weight device that holds an entire bookshelf – no matter how thick the book, I can sit comfortably and read. And when I’m done I can just go to the menu and choose another.
Being in South Africa and having a taste for books I can’t usually find on the shelves, I’ve really enjoyed being able to order books from overseas and not have to pay shipping costs.
That said, I still like the feel of a paper book in my hands and one day, when I finally manage to publish my own book, I’m not sure it would feel real until I could see a print version on a bookshelf 😉
(P.S. Love what Tu Books stands for – diversity should be celebrated)
Stacy,
We are running a series on latinos and sci-fi and, even tho this isn’t the best place to ask, could you tell us what are the market prospects for latinos authoring sci-fi, and the YA and mid-grade audience?
Thank you,
RudyG
If interested, we’d love for you to join in. The series will go for another week and started here:

I have read some e-books on my laptop, but I prefer reading print books. I would like a Kindle or Nook though.
